The goal of the welding program is to give participants the opportunity to learn and understand the dynamics of welding, as well as to practice responsibility and dependability.

The program had 40 participants enrolled in 2018. Class participants viewed step-by-step instructional DVDs along with books and handouts. The men leading the class gave tests every quarter to check the students’ understanding of the material.

The program’s future goals are to obtain a welding simulator and additional classroom materials. Welding is a highly desirable vocation and the welding program aims to ensure that each man who applies himself leaves with a thorough knowledge of basic welding and welding safety.
