Clemson Entrepreneurial Course

Clemson.png

Beaufort County Clemson Extension and Richland County Clemson Extension provide a comprehensive business education course that prepares the men to transition to society as entrepreneurs. The course begins by identifying the personalities of participants according to four personality types. Having a  greater understanding of their personality, as well as the personality of others, gives participants vital information that will aid them in successfully navigating the business world.

The class was guided by the book "Who Owns the Icehouse" , by Clifton Taulbert. Through this book and the accompanying study guide, the participants were encouraged and empowered by the stories and business advice of successful bootstrapping entrepreneurs. They learned the entrepreneurial traits they already possess and were instructed on how to evolve their business ideas.  The class included Advanced Business Planning, or the nuts and bolts of starting and running a successful business. Through this course participants were able to focus their business ideas and were given the tools needed to transform their ideas into reality. In 2018 there were 13 graduates of this 20-week course.  Several of the participants took what they learned and put together their business plans and presented them at the graduation ceremony
